Asthanga Yoga

Yoga has been integral part of Indian life since time immemorial. The word "Yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj' meaning to bind and yoke.

Refers to the classical 8-limbed path as described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The 8-limbed path includes ethical relationship, inner integrity, postures (asanas), breath-work (pranayama), meditation, concentration, and deeper focused practices which evolve from the foundation. A challenging style of Yoga taught by Pattabhi Jois of Mysore India. Ashtanga Yoga features a continuous demanding flow of movement. The first form consists of 2 different sets of sun salutes, followed by 70 postures. Participants flow in choreographed movement from one posture to the next. By executing the sun salute series in between the sitting poses, and utilizing locks and breath technique, participants generate a high level of core heat in the body. This style of Yoga encourages the development of strength, lean body mass, stamina, and flexibility. There is a very structured form of movement, breath technique, focus of the gaze, and core energy. Students drawn to this style tend to appreciate (rather than feel intimidated by) physical and emotional challenge

Kundalini Yoga (as originally taught by Yogi Bhajan): KY, the most powerful and effective form of yoga, brings the energies of the brain, nervous and glandular systems into balance.  This enables you to function at a consistently higher level, without exhausting your mind and body.  When the body and mind are at ease, inspiration flows freely and peace of mind is realized.

Kundalini Yoga is a non-stressful way to promote flexibility, cardiovascular capability, weight and stress management, AND to cultivate energy, serenity, personal power and spiritual awakening. Its dynamic blend of breathing, movement, stretching, meditation, mantras and relaxation will enable you to look and feel great, relax, enjoy life and live in grace and gratitude.

It works safely on every aspect of your body, mind, emotions and spirit. Kundalini Yoga facilitates the flow of pranic and spiritual (psychic) energy, in particular along the spinal energy channels and through the chakras.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga combats the difficulties of modern living, helping to reduce stress, to remove negativity and to eliminate depression. As you connect to your inner being, your heart will open and you will experience levels of self-love, peace and joy that you have never experienced before.
