BREATHE IN BREATHE OUT....
Yoga breathing, or Pranayama, is the science of breath control. It consists of series of exercises especially intended to meet the body's needs and keep it in vibrant health. Pranayama comes from the following words: Prana "life force", Yama "discipline" or "control" and Ayama "expansion". Thus, Pranayama means "breath control". Ideally, this practice of opening up the inner life force is not merely to take healthy deep breaths. It is intended to help prepare yoga practitioners for their meditation practices. In this workshop you will learn simple pranayama breathing exercises to enhance awareness of breath, develop concentration (through withdrawing from the engagement of the mind and senses), and energize and balance the body. These practices bring peacefulness, as we learn to appreciate breath, we learn to appreciate life itself.
Mantra (the soul of yoga)
You will also learn ancient meditation techniques of Mantra repetition used extensively in Tibet and India. Mantra is a profound and practical method of self-awakening, opening and self-transcendence. It is a form of yoga which speaks to the deep organic roots of man's being, by the use of vocalized and mental sound-currents of both audible and inaudible frequencies.
"The mantra is dynamic, powerful; it will sink deeper into your consciousness...because the mantra is the living symbol of the divine. As it penetrates the deeper levels of consciousness it comes to stand for the highest we can conceive of, the highest we can aspire to,the highest we can love". ( Eknath Easwaran)

Yin Yoga focuses on exercising the deeper layers of the physical body, mainly the joints and connective tissues of the hips and lower back. In this quiet practice, your energy levels are restored as you move into stillness and relax into the postures. Yin yoga is a wonderful complement to your dynamic (Yang in nature) yoga practices, and can help to open the hips and create more mobility in the spine. All levels welcome…

The art of Yin and Yang Yoga is about following our own path. During the weekend Serge will gently guide students to open to the artist within and to teach yoga as a creative expression of each individual’s authentic self. Each individual will be supported and practices will be adapted to their capabilities.
During the weekend, Alex and Serge will help participants to explore and integrate all dimensions of yoga, as well as encouraging them to grow and expand through mindfulness and self awareness.
