CHAPTER 1 - INTRO TO ASHTANGA (10 weeks)+1 FREE VINYASA FLOW A WEEK
This course introduces students to the basic concepts and poses of the Ashtanga yoga and Krisnamacharya Yoga series in a gentle, safe, and effective way. Basic philosophy Yama will be taught along with an introduction to the sun salutations, as well as standing and seated postures. Extra time and attention are devoted to Pranayama (breathing techniques) and establishing correct alignment within each posture. This class is designed to give you a firm foundation in the Ashtanga primary series. Personal support will be given according to your needs and limitations.

While there is a Yoga way of eating, there is also a Yoga way of not eating. This refers to Fasting. This is done by yogis as a form of physical cleansing or purification. Since we make our digestive system work several times a day, it's also a good idea to give it some rest. This will allow our digestive system to recover from the abuse: from eating too much, eating unhealthy foods or eating at the wrong time. It also allows us to get rid of toxins in our body.
Fasting and Yoga complement each other perfectly...
The combination of gentle moving, stretching and twisting together with deep breathing, speeds up the detox process.
The lymph and blood transporting the released toxins are pumped through the body at a faster rate, improving drainage of toxins and speeding up the elimination process.
The state of relaxation brought about by yoga causes the healing, restorative parasympathetic nervous system to take over from the autonomic nervous system, and the body starts to clean and heal itself.
The practice of yoga helps boost energy levels, as you take in and store abundant amounts of prana (energy) whilst holding postures and doing pranayama.
The more you detox, the clearer the energy channels become, and the greater the effects of the yoga practice. Not only is this highly beneficial both short term and long term, but it also makes the detox process easier and a lot more enjoyable. You feel psychologically uplifted, and the mind is strengthened to carry on... It also gives you a clear indication of the energetic effects of yoga.

Announcing the YogAnatomy Workshop Series with Physiotherapist Leslee Watt!
This series will take place over 6 Saturdays in May & June from 3:30 – 5:30pm and is designed for yoga students and teachers who want to enhance their experience of yoga through a deeper knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology. Each workshop will include a one hour yoga practice to reinforce concepts presented.

Private Sessions : The session begins with a combination of focused dialog and an intuitive reading,Pranayama (breathe exercices) that helps to identify the core of your particular patterns and create a powerful intention to support your deepest good. You then lie, fully clothed, on a comfortable mat with 10-15 bowls on and around your body. Gentle hands-on energy balancing (Polarity) work begins the session to aid your relax into the deeply healing tones of the bowls as they are stuck and sung creating magnificent harmonics that align your energies. Penetrating vibrations of bowls moving over and around you sending strong vibrations to detoxify and purify your system. The sound patterns create a cellular anchor to the memory of wellbeing.
Visualization may also be introduced in sessions as well as referrals as needed. To maximize the process I recommend a weekly session for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks followed by 2 sessions spaced 2 weeks apart. At the end of the 4 sessions we evaluate your progress and discuss the schedule for future sessions.(I typically recommend that you continue with "tune-up" sessions several times a year to help maintain the work we have done).
